GREEN – Breeze Airways is adding nonstop service to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, from the Akron-Canton Airport this summer.

The low-cost carrier announced the service Wednesday, with special introductory one-way fares of $39. The Myrtle Beach route, which is seasonal and available Wednesdays and Saturdays, begins June 22.

“This year, we are focused on building on the solid foundation we have established in many of our key origin cities, especially on the East Coast,” Breeze President Tom Doxey said in a prepared statement. “Our terrific airport partners at Akron-Canton support us in this growth, resulting in even more flights to popular destinations across our network so more people can experience the benefits of our unique business model, combining low fares, nonstop flights and a seamless, elevated experience.”

Breeze launched service at Akron-Canton and other airports in 2021. It has since added several destinations, including a Los Angeles route that is scheduled to begin next month.

“We are excited to announce additional nonstop options to Myrtle Beach for Northeast Ohioans looking forward to a familiar getaway or a first-time adventure,” Akron-Canton President and CEO Ren Camacho said in a prepared statement. “Breeze Airways’ growth at CAK is a testament to their commitment to the region, and our community’s positive response to nice, nonstop air travel.”

Allegiant Air, another low-cost carrier, added flights to Myrtle Beach from Akron-Canton last year.
